A Pair of Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

This incident caused the partial shutdown of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody related to a theft at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
