Note: Spoilers for the latest installment of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of characters who will branch out from the main group to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group consists of Teor (played by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the outset that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three distinct groups: Soldiers, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem unsuited, but the events of episode 3 make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then paid off his debts and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above the city, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- The adventurer knows the region and warns that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could assist the team access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a eternal obligation to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander defied House Halovar and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them no alternative but to head to Timmony in pursuit of Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the latest episode’s post-show segment, we learn that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the other eight players to form the Explorers and Planners tables.
Audiences can expect learning which players will be where in the season’s last Overture episode, available to watch on next week.
